There's also stuff I just can't talk about - in regards to some reviews being played on early code and that not being stated in the review, and how things are actually going in regards to engine/platform performance. (IE: getting folks from Sony/Unity together to say "Hey, this isn't just us, this is engine code" happened too late because it's a not a super easy thing to get to happen) We could've built a significantly DIFFERENT game (a game with levels that load all over the place) but we chose to build what we did, instead. The small issues we have we were not able to get in-front of the right people until it was 100% obvious they were going to ship. You can see the game running on that GameTrailers video and make the call for yourself, obviously. There are some hiccups but if I/we didn't feel like it was a good product we would not be selling it.
#FIREWATCH GAME QUOTES PS4#
I've played the game for hundreds of hours on PS4 and don't believe the issues are severe. Most of the time outside of that the game seems smooth, but even then some areas of the forest cause some slowdown." (ZTGD)
The framerate chugs from time to time, and it appears it’s either a loading or saving issue as it seems to occur almost on time or every so often in a repeating fashion. ".on PS4 performance can be pretty bad, and it’s odd as this doesn’t seem to be pushing the system to its limits at all. The framerate chugs like a teenager at a house party, stuttering to auto-save and plunging into the low teens as it streams in new environmental data." (Push Square) "The problem is that the game, in its pre-release state at least, has some of the worst performance issues that we've seen on the PlayStation 4 to date.
#FIREWATCH GAME QUOTES PC#
While the PC can maintain a stable and impressive display on most modern systems, the PS4 often chugs and hitches, even crashing on me once during my time with the game." (Gamingtrend) "This is a truly beautiful game, though the PlayStation 4 struggles to keep up with the performance of the PC version. I have had to restart the whole game four times before finally managing to complete it as the game refused to trigger the next part of the story. "I would love to finish my review there, but sadly I did encounter quite a few game breaking problems when playing on PS4. Quotes are in the order of the links above (these are just a few quotes, btw): Any words from the devs on this and a possible fix?
Multiple reviews have cited significant performance issues on the PS4 (see below).
